Hi, I'm Andrea. I was born and raised in a small community and grew up on a farm. I was a bit of tomboy when I was kid and I loved to climb trees... to read. An odd combination, but true. I went away to university and got that sought after paper after 4 years of hard work. To be honest, the last one was where I really worked hard. Imagine what I could have accomplished if I'd worked like that all 4 years!
I met my husband while I was in university and the October after I graduated we got married followed shortly thereafter by a move about 3500 miles away from our home and families to Calgary, AB. I'd like to say we stayed there because it's a beautiful city but about a year later we moved back, with our daughter in tow. We have stayed in Prince Edward County since our move back. |
Here are some real basic points about me:
First and foremost, I love God and I believe that He guides my path even when I'm stubborn and like to make my own plans which rarely actually work out I have 2 kids and a husband, so 3 kids. I also have a dog with a limp, a slightly demented cat who randomly attacks herself and 2 gerbils. My daughter is angling for a bunny... I don't think I have it all worked out nor will I ever. I am a working mom. I don't have a homestead and I don't homeschool our children. I don't live on a farm anymore and I'm not trying to be all "look at my wonderful life". I sometimes wonder what the heck happened... okay, okay... I frequently wonder that. |
I work in a pharmacy. (Don't hold it against me!) It's fast paced and before I worked there I was a patient there and I hated the people who worked there because they were slow. Now the shoe is on the other foot... don't judge your pharmacy staff so harshly people.
I have a bullet journal and it has saved my life.
I love to hula hoop. See the picture? Yeah, that's me. I'm not great, but I try and I often fall off the wagon only to pick it up again later.
I'm not a vegan. I'm not frugal. Good for you if you are. I applaud you, but it's not for me. This is my life. I'm not offering tips, I'm just living day by day like everyone else.
I battle depression and anxiety. People often think that being a Christian means that you have it all figured out. I love the phrase I once heard during a bible study. "We're all just struggling misfits." Being a Christian doesn't mean I don't have bad things happen to me, it just means I know where to turn when they do.
I've done a lot of stupid things and for some odd reason, I want to share them.
I love to sleep. Seriously... I actually started a sleep tracker in my bullet journal. If I'm quiet, it's because I've gone to sleep.
I taught myself to crochet through you tube and it's a hobby that I really enjoy. It's so neat to see something I have made with my own hands.
I love to write and share stories. I wrote a book about my experience when I asked Jesus into my life but haven't pursued it to completion. I should really get on that.
I HATE housework. If you come into my house and it's clean, it's likely because my husband has gotten fed up and cleaned. Seriously, not even kidding. You'll usually find me on the couch watching crime shows.
I watch professional wrestling. Don't judge me.
I'm a nerd at heart, but without all the work. I love all things Star Wars, Superheroes (I rarely ready comic books though) and Power Rangers. Like I said, don't judge me.
